岗位职责和要求

The successful candidate for this position will play a leading role in building and expanding our gut microbiome research capabilities in China and in defining, developing and implementing research strategy and work alongside the benefit area experts to develop novel pre- and probiotics innovations in areas of early life and medical nutrition.

 

Your mission

In this role you partner with research platforms to solidify Danone as the company of choice by demonstrating superior scientific credibility in the field of human gut microbiota and health.

•           Build Nutricia’s network across the microbiome research space by representing the company in the Chinese and international scientific community; forge collaborative and interactive relations relationships with universities and academic medical centers and leverage those relationships to support Danone’s R&D initiatives;

•           Deliver science-based gut microbiome data analysis and interpretation to bring added value to the microbiome and pre- and probiotics research program and burst specialised nutrition innovations.

•           Writing and reviewing of project proposals and/or data analysis protocols.

•           Hands on involvement (from data collection to results presentation) in the analysis and interpretation of the microbiome data from external and internal sources.

•           Located in Shanghai and closely linked the multidisciplinary Gut Biology & Microbiology team of which most members are based in the Netherlands and France.

•           Prioritize research proposals with the most compelling science and greatest degree of alignment with Danone’s strategic priorities;

•           Serve as a first-point of contact within the Chinese team for inquiries regarding microbiome knowledge to internal initiatives. 

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a PhD degree with at least 3 years of progressive experience in (applied) scientific research preferably working in, or closely with, food industry R&D. While highly proficient in a scientific specialization (such as molecular microbiology, microbial physiology, host-microbiome systems biology or metagenomics), you have also demonstrated potential to collaborate with experts across diverse scientific disciplines and disease areas.

 In addition, you fit this role perfectly because you are:

•           Strong knowledge on and interest in specialized nutrition and the development of the intestinal microbiome across the lifespan and for different groups of patients.

•           Capable of assessing and prioritizing scientific opportunities across multiple disease areas;

•           Capable of cultivating an engaged and energized network that is actively accelerating microbiome research.

•           Excellent at scientific writing and presenting.

•           Fluent in Mandarin and English

•           Great at influencing and a strong sense of business acumen.
