Role Purpose

The Head of D&A BP serves as the strategic interface between business functions and the IT & Data organization, he/she will lead the GC Data & AI strategy, development, activation and execution across the organization. He/She will be responsible for building a high-performing team, establishing robust data governance and architecture, and driving innovation through AI. This role requires close collaboration with global data team and local cross-functional teams including Strategy, Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure data and AI capabilities deliver measurable business value.ensuring that data and analytics capabilities are fully leveraged to drive business outcomes. This role is pivotal in translating business needs into data-driven solutions, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and embedding a data culture across the CNAO zone.


Key Responsibilities


1. Strategic Business Partnering

- Act as the primary liaison between business units (e.g., Commercial, Finance, HR, Operations) and D&A teams.

- Co-create business cases with functional leaders to identify high-impact data initiatives.

- Align D&A strategies with zone-level priorities and market-specific needs.

- Collaborate with Global D & A Team to build and execute the overall data and AI strategy for China, aligned with global data initiatives.

- Promote a data-driven culture and system across the China organization.

- Accelerate AI empowered business efficiency and effectiveness through co-creation with BU tech partner.

- Establish Global for China, China for China collaboration model to accelerate business through compliance and consumer needs. Enterprise thinking to look forwarding China capability to Global opportunities.

- Investigate and Symphony data science, AI technology in the market trend. Identify and prioritize business implications in value chain for short-term and long-term business acceleration.

- Foster an agility culture to support digital transformation. Win as One cross function in Global and China.


2. Data Product Ownership

- Lead the lifecycle of data and Analytics products, from demand identification to delivery and adoption.

- Prioritize product roadmaps based on business value, feasibility, and strategic fit.

- Guide agile development teams through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and stakeholder engagement.


3. Data Management, Architecture and Governance

- Establish and maintain enterprise-wide data architecture that supports scalability, security, and performance.

- Lead the implementation of data governance frameworks, including data quality, metadata management, and data lineage etc.

- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal policies.

- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure robust data platform design and operations.

- Drive adoption of modern data platforms and tools (e.g. Ali cloud datalake, dataworks,maxcomput , PowerBI etc).

- Co-lead Data security with Legal, Compliance and Security team to increase cyber security maturity.


4. Governance & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to Danone’s data governance frameworks, privacy standards, and internal controls.

- Collaborate with IT Governance and external providers to maintain data integrity and security.


5. Capability Building & Change Leadership

- Champion data literacy and analytics fluency across business teams.

- Mentor junior BPs and contribute to talent development within the D&A community.

- Drive adoption of analytics platforms and tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Python, R).


6. Performance & Value Delivery

- Define and track KPIs such as product SLA, stakeholder satisfaction, and business impact.

- Facilitate post-deployment reviews and continuous improvement cycles.


Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field.

- Minimum 8 years in data strategy, analytics, or business partnering roles.

- Proven success in leading cross-functional data initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations.

- Experience in FMCG or healthcare sectors preferred.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Expertise in agile methodologies, data storytelling, and product management.

- Familiarity with modern data platforms and experience in leading governance models is a plus.
