岗位职责要求

Key Responsibility*

1. Routine wet lab execution

• Execute routine laboratory activities under the guidance of the Microbiome Lab Manager, focusing on reliable operational delivery rather than experimental design ownership.

• Perform routine sample receiving, registration, aliquoting, centrifugation, sample handling and preparation activities in line with defined SOPs.

• Support basic molecular biology activities such as DNA extraction, PCR and related experimental support activities under supervision where required.

• Ensure that experimental operations are accurate, traceable, and conducted according to established procedures.

2. Daily sequencing operation and sequencing readiness

• Perform daily sequencing operations and routine experimental activities, including equipment setup, experimental preparation, sequencing run support, and operational readiness activities.

• Prepare required reagents, consumables, sample materials and equipment before sequencing-related activities.

• Support sequencing run readiness by checking materials, equipment status, documentation and workflow requirements.

• Promptly report abnormal observations, deviations or equipment issues to the Microbiome Lab Manager.

3. Laboratory maintenance and operational readiness

• Maintain laboratory operational readiness through routine cleaning, bench disinfection, equipment cleaning, workspace organization, and housekeeping activities.

• Support routine maintenance of basic laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, pipettes and other commonly used instruments.

• Support waste handling, biological waste sorting and disposal according to laboratory safety and biosafety requirements.

• Maintain a tidy, safe and inspection-ready laboratory environment for daily work.

4. SOP-driven execution, documentation and compliance

• Follow approved SOPs, laboratory safety requirements and biosafety rules in all routine activities.

• Maintain required laboratory certifications, equipment records, calibration documentation, and operational logs, ensuring audit readiness and compliance.

• Complete experiment records, equipment usage records, sample tracking records and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

• Ensure data and records are traceable, complete and properly stored according to laboratory requirements.

5. Operational support to OneBiome Lab projects

• Provide hands-on operational support for OneBiome Lab project execution under the direction of the Microbiome Lab Manager.

• Support material preparation, reagent preparation, consumable management, sample logistics and routine experimental scheduling.

• Coordinate with internal laboratory users and support smooth daily workflow execution.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of routine laboratory operations by identifying practical improvement opportunities.

Education & Experience

• College diploma or bachelor's degree in biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Food Science, Biotechnology or related field. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in routine wet lab operations, laboratory maintenance, sample handling, and experimental support activities. Working  experience in a BSL-2 lab is preferred

• Experience supporting DNA extraction, PCR, library preparation, sequencing preparation, or other NGS-related activities is highly desirable.

• Experience with routine laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, pipettes and basic molecular biology instruments is preferred.

• Experience in microbiology, molecular biology, food, nutrition, life science or industrial research laboratory is a plus.

Technical & Operational Competencies

• Strong ability to follow SOPs and execute repetitive laboratory tasks with consistency and attention to detail.

• Good record-keeping discipline and awareness of traceability, documentation and audit readiness.

• Basic understanding of laboratory safety and biosafety requirements.

• Practical mindset, reliability and willingness to perform hands-on operational tasks including cleaning, preparation, material organization and waste handling.

• Good teamwork and communication skills; able to report issues clearly and work under the guidance of the Microbiome Lab Manager.

• Working proficiency in Chinese; basic English reading capability for SOPs, equipment manuals or records is preferred.
